MILL CREEK SCHOOL 1935-6

Mill Creek School 1935-6

Mill Creek School was located in Corwin Township, Section 2. There is some disagreement in records but I think it is related to interpretation - school district vs. school building location. It got its name from Rankin's Mill which was at Rocky Ford in Corwin. The original school burnt and a new building was constructed. That is the new building in the picture.

Row 1, left to right: Stephen Martin, Earl Danley, Peggy Martin

Row 2, left to right: Esther Rankin, Kenneth Rankin, Donald Ritchhart, Bonnie Puls, Dorothy Richhart, Myrtle Maaks, Elizabeth Krueger

Row 3, left to right: Joseph Hunter, Mary Fulcher, Carlyle (Wiggs) Fulcher, Bob Martin, Eileene Krueger, Marion Maaks, Norma Swisher, Margaret Hobbs.

Row 4, left to right: Jim (Offie) Rankin, Marian McGee (teacher), Elmer Danley, ? Horchem, Margret Ranklin, ? Horchem, Ruby Hunter, Norma Ritchhart, Alida Krueger, Wilbur Horchem

The picture was provided by Edward Danley who found it in the possessions of his late father Edgar (Earl) Danley. A note indicates "the Horchem girls were Faye and Ethel but I don't remember which is which." He also indicated he thinks the note may have been written by Peggy Martin Danley.
