CLIFTON AMBERG

Clifton H. Amberg, 73, of 311 20th St., a retired foreman for Caterpillar Tractor, Co., died at 3:32 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 1985 at his residence.

Mr. Amberg was a member of Maroa Christian Church. He was a foreman for Caterpillar Tractor, Co. for 36 years, retiring in 1977.

He was past member of Atlanta Mason Lodge 165. He was also a member of Lincoln Chapter 147 of the Masons, where he served as past high priest, district deputy grand high priest, grand lecturer and past member of the board of grand examiners. He also received his past high priest degree from the Lincoln chapter.

Mr. Amberg was a member of Lincoln Council 83, where he was past trice illustrious master. He received his high priest degree from the council and spent five years on the ritualistic instruction committee. He received the Cryptic Award for Mason of the year of 1977.

He was a charter member and past governor of the Central Illinois York Rite College 42, where he received the Purple Cross of Honour in 1978 in Orlando, Fla., the highest honor attainable in York Rite Masonry.

He was a member of the Bloomington Consistory, A.A.S.R. He was also a member of the Ansar Shrine, A.A.O.M.S., Springfield. He was a member of the K.Y.C.H-Priory 11, where he received the Knight York of Honour. He was a past commander of Constantine Commandery 51. He was grand representative of the Grand chapter of West Virginia, where he received an honorary membership.

Clifton Amberg was my great uncle.
