RAYMOND DONATH

Funeral services for Raymond Anthony Donath, 80, of Lincoln will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holland & Barry Funeral Home, with the Rev. Thomas Taylor officiating. Burial, with military rites, will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Donath died at 8:41 a.m. Friday, November. 6, 1998, at OSF St. Joseph's Medical Center in Bloomington. He worked 30 years as a machinist at Caterpillar in Peoria, before he retired in 1975. He also served as a U.S. Navy aviation mechanic at Pensacola Naval Air Base from 1941 to 1945. He graduated from Lincoln Community High School in 1936. He was a master's level marksman in the Lincoln Rifle Team competition from 1962 to 1978. He was born August. 7, 1918, in St. Louis, Mo., a son of Joseph Anthony and Mary Ellen Boy Donath. He married Mildred Heinzel January. 30, 1941, in St. Louis, Mo. She survives. Also surviving are three sons, Tony Donath of Stanford, Edward Donath of Dawson and William Donath of Lincoln; a daughter, Linda Madigan of Quincy; a sister, Rita Queen of Titusville, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
