Esther M. Hoffert, 50, Lincoln died at 6:40 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 1983 at her home.

She was born Dec. 2, 1932 in Lincoln, the daughter of Charles and Mabell Foreaker Shehorn. She married Arthur F. Hoffert July 26, 1956 in Broadwell. He survives.

Also surviving are a son, Richard, Lincoln; a stepson Ernest, Middletown; a stepdaughter, Edith Baumgardner, Arkansas; a brother, Don, address unknown; an adopted mother, Mildred Foreaker, who raised her; two adopted sisters, Suzanne Harris and Martha Haughton, both of Lincoln; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A brother preceded her in death.

She was employed at Lincoln Developmental Center in the dietary department until 1970. She was a member of the Lincoln Christian Church.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Kerrigan Funeral Home, Lincoln, with Gene Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Kerrigan Funeral Home.
