HARRY MENZEL

Harry W. Menzel, 85, of Lincoln died at 10 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Menzel was a petroleum salesman for Logan Farm Service for 28 years. He also served as a driver for the Lincoln/Logan County Food Pantry.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, the church's Volunteers in Mission and American Legion Post 263.

A U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, Mr. Menzel served during World War II.

He was born April 2, 1917, in Lincoln, a son of Julius and Carolina Jaggi Menzel. He married Dorothy Earle in 1943, in Malden, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Harry Earl Menzel of Kankakee, David Menzel of Springfield, Michael Menzel of Williamsville and Scott Menzel of Louisville, Ky.; one sister, Maxine Menzel of Lincoln; one brother, Julian Menzel of Lincoln; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Menzel's funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Larry Maffett officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the Lincoln/Logan Food Pantry.
