W. W. MILLER

W. W. Miller died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Horace Bale in Springfield, Illinois July 28, 1904. He was born in Harrison County, Indiana June 6, 1826 and moved to Logan County, Illinois with his parents in 1844. Afterwards he lived in Sangamon and Mason counties. He was united in marriage with Nancy Ann Smith in 1845. To this union six children were born, only two of which survive him, Mrs. Dora Bale of Springfield and Mrs. Susan Bortsfield of Peoria. His wife, Nancy Ann Miller, died July 7, 1883, and he was again united in marriage with Mattie Harris in 1884. This wife died in 1893. He then married Elya E. Gum who died May 26, 1904 just two months previous to the death of Mr. Miller. The deceased was the last of sixteen brothers and sisters. He united with the M. E. church early in life and was always a devout christian. The last four years of his life he was an invalid but bore his suffering with true christian patience.
