OBERMILLER RITES SET FOR WEDNESDAY

MT. PULASKI June 14 - F. W. Obermiller, 76, well known Mt. Pulaski and Logan county citizen, died at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon June 13, in his home in this city following an illness of several years duration with Brights disease and complications. Mr. Obermiller had been prominent in business, civic and political circles of the county for many years. He was well known as grain dealer, conducting elevators at Burtonview, Kenney and at Mt Pulaski. In politics he was a Republican, serving as postmaster during the McKinley and Roosevelt administrations. He was a precinct committeeman for several terms and at the time of his death he held the office of Justice of The Peace. He also served as president of the board of education. Frederick W. Obermiller was born in Stuttgart, Germany, April 6, 1856, and came to the United States and Logan County when 14 years of age. On October 2, 1879 he was marred in the Spitley House in Lincoln to Miss Julia A. Boy. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary October 2, 1929. They nave resided in Mt. Pulaski about 40 years. He was a prominent member of Mt Pulaski Commandery Knights Templar and a few years ago he was presented with the jewel emblematic of 50 years of continuous membership in the I. 0. 0. F. Surviving are his widow and the following nine daughters: Mrs. Joseph H. Gordon, Mrs. Harold Mc Math, Tacoma, Washington; Mrs. Oscar Wolcott, Decatur; Mrs. Charles Cunningham, Peoria; Mrs. Frank G. Adams and Mrs. George B. Croll, Chicago; Mrs. L.W. Lucas, Mrs. Ward Harper, Mrs. Carl Yoder, Mt. Pulaski. Left also are ten grandchildren and one sister. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o’clock Wednesday afternoon June 15 at the family home. Rev. J. Wayne Staley will officiate and the Masonic burial rites will be in charge of the Mt. Pulaski lodge. Burial will be in Mt. Pulaski Cemetery.
