LAURA RIDGEWAY

Laura Ridgeway, wife of Mr. Edward Ridgeway, died at 11 a. m. Saturday, Jan. 28th, 1899, at the old Wm. R. Buckles farm home, 4 miles west of Mt. Pulaski, aged 27 years, 8 months, and 14 days.

Funeral services will be held at the Buckles church by Elder L. M. Robinson, at 11 o'clock a. m., Monday 30th inst., with interment in the Carlyle cemetery. All friends are cordially invited to attend.

Laura Ridgeway was born May 13, 1870; died Jan. 28, 1899, aged 28 years, 8 months, and 15 days. She was united in marriage to Edward Ridgeway, Feb. 11, 1891, and to them were born four children, namely: Irvin, 7 years, Roy, 5 years, Vernon, 3 years and Willie Lee, 3 weeks old. She leaves to mourn her early death an aged mother (72 years old), a husband, three sisters and one brother; four brothers and two sisters preceded her to the spirit land. Only two sisters were present at the funeral, and the venerable mother, on account of failing health and the unexpected shock, was unable to be present. The loss of her youngest child was a severe blow to her.

Mrs. Ridgeway will be missed by all in this community, but none will feel her loss so keenly as the husband and four little ones who will never more know a mother's love. She united with the Christian church at Broadwell several years ago, and has since been a consistent Christian. We believe our loss is her gain.
