Jesse D. Smitherman

Jesse D. Smitherman, 78, of Lincoln, died at 9 p.m., Monday, April 4, 1988 at his residence. Mr. Smitherman was a licensed plumber for his entire adult life, working for Bouillon, George Brown and Ray Money plumbing companies in Lincoln. He was a member of Local 137 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union in Springfield and of Zion Lutheran Church, Lincoln.

He was born June 24, 1909 in Springfield, a son of Walter and Nora Hurley Smitherman. He married Lucille Wright on Dec. 19, 1946 in Lincoln. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Sharon Ramsey, Lincoln and Pat Ellen Kollor, Carlinville; one half brother, Ray Money, Lincoln; and three grandsons.

There are no funeral services nor visitation at Mr. Smitherman's request. Cremation rites will be accorded. The Kerrigan Funeral Home, Lincoln, handled arrangements.
