JEMIMA WATERS

The remains of Mrs. Jemima Waters were brought here from Champaign Tuesday for interment and were buried at the grave yard near Arthur Miller's. Rev. Stanley making a few remarks. Mrs. Waters was well known here, coming to the Delavan Prairie neighborhood in 1834, where she lived for many years. She was aged 78 years and her death was quite sudden, the cause being heart disease. She had been on a visit to her children in Oklahoma, and had only returned to Champaign about a week before her death. Six of her children accompanied the body to this city. The deceased was a sister of Jefferson Howser of this place and Joshua Howser of Lincoln.
