REPORTED ERRORS IN 1862 MILITARY CENSUS

The 1862 Military Census is an historical document. That does not mean it is error free. Here are reported corrections.

FELIX M. HOGBIN - From Denise Novak: Felix M. Hogbin is not listed on your 1862 Military Census. He joined the 106th Illinois Infantry on Aug. 5, 1862 in Lincoln, although he was from Middletown. He was mustered out on July 12, 1865. Felix Hogbin was my great-great grandfather. He is listed in the 1860 census for Logan County. Unfortunately, his name is terribly misspelled (Phelix Ogden).

WILLIAM N. DOWNING - From Cheryl Rothwell: Minor correction. The government consistently listed him as William M. but his name was William Nelson Downing. He was with the 106th from the Salt Creek Precinct and died at Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He was my great-great grandfather.
