White, Dec. 24, 1849; she was born in Kentucky, Dec. 24, 1831, and is the grand-daughter of Lieut. John White of the Revolutionary army, and her grandfather on her mother's side, George Bryan, was the first man that was married in the state of Kentucky; have 10 children living; George W., Martha Jane, Thomas D., William D., Ann M., James B., Daniel E., Robert F., Frank P., and John H., and one dead, John W.; Mr. Gayle has built some of the finest buildings in the country, among which is the Washington seminary and Lincoln university.
