AMBERG RITES WEDNESDAY

Funeral services for Illini Township Supervisor Walter G. Amberg will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Monson Funeral Home with burial in Graceland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.

Mr. Amberg, 64, was found dead in his Warrensburg apartment about 11 a.m. yesterday. He was a petroleum salesman for the Macon County Service Co. Mr. Amberg was elected to the county board in 1959.

He was a Harristown resident before moving to Warrensburg in 1950. Mr. Amberg was born Feb. 3, 1898 in Logan County, son of Nicholas and Hannah Musick Amberg.

He was married Sept. 18, 1921 at Des Moines, Iowa, to Grace Hinkle, who survives. Also surviving are sons Walter W. of Sacremento, Calif., and Donald R. of Decatur; sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Bernice) Leesman of Atlanta, Mrs. Lula Scroggin of Decatur and Mrs. Leland (Myrtle) Norfleet of Kenosha, Wis.; brothers, Clarence of Atlanta, Clifton of Maroa and Paul of McLean; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. One brother preceded him in death.

Mr. Amberg was a member of the Macon County Farm Bureau, the Illinois Welfare Association, the Warrensburg Lions Club, IOOF Lodge and volunteer fire department, and was past president of the Warrensburg Sportsman's Club.

Walter Amberg was my great uncle.
