Rebecca Ann Montgomery Boyer was born at Greenview, Menard County, Illinois 28 Oct 1852 and passed away at her home in Middletown, Logan County, Illinois on 8 Dec 1927. She was the only daughter of David T. and Martha Neil Montgomery. She married William Boyer 23 Mar 1871 at Greenview, Illinois. William preceded Rebecca in death on 30 Sep 1926. To this union was born ten children of which two had died at the time of Rebecca's death. There were eight children living at the time of her death: Joseph S. Boyer of Fancy Prairie, Menard County, Illinois; Charles E. Boyer of Middletown, Logan County, Illinois; Lillie A. Edgell of Birnamwood, Wisconsin; Fred Boyer of Middletown, Logan County, Illinois; Alice E. Hornback of Fancy Prairie, Illinois; Thomas H. Boyer of Greenview, Illinois; Katherine Carlton of Oneida, Knox County, Illinois and Larry Boyer of the home.

Pall bearers were: C. A. Davy, James Coil, Frank Lloyd, A. M. Montgomery, Charles Rogers, and Thomas Pearce. Interment was made in Irish Grove Cemetery.
