Ben F. Donath, 97, of Lincoln died at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 1988 at the Christian Nursing Home. Mr. Donath worked as a coal miner many years, retiring in 1956, and previously had been employed as a plumber at the Lincoln Developmental Center. He was a member of Holy Family Church, the Western Catholic Union and the Progressive Miners of America. He was born Dec. 19, 1890 in Lincoln, a son of Henry and Liddie Bessler Donath. He married Coletha Seitz on Aug. 4, 1914 in Lincoln. She preceded him in death on Jan. 7, 1973. Surviving are two sons, Ben Jr. and Paul, both of Lincoln; three daughters, Rose Gipson, Alma Twardos and Edna Miller, all of Lincoln; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. One daughter, three brothers, one sister and three grandchildren preceded him in death.
