Dropped Dead On Trip To Mailbox

Ferdinand A. Giese, residing near New Holland, dropped dead Friday morning, Sept. 8, near his home. Mr. Giese had not been well for some time, but yesterday morning started to walk to the mail box that is located quite a distance from his home. Before reaching his destination he became ill with acute dilation of the heart and passed away within a short time.

Mr. Giese was born in Germany, Feb. 6, 1857 and died at the age of 65 years, 7 months and 2 days. He was married to Miss Frederieka Buse in Germany in the year 1884. He spent the past 27 years in this state. Besides his wife, Mr. Giese is survived by the following children: William Giese, New Holland; Mrs. Anna Laughery, Mt. Pulaski; Miss Bertha Giese, Mrs. Fieda Koester and Mrs. Minnie Utech of New Holland.

The deceased was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Holland, where the funeral services will be held Sunday morning. Short services will be held from the home at 10 o'clock, followed by services from the church at 10:45 o'clock, conducted by Rev. M.H.A. Guemmer. Interment will take place in Richmond Grove cemetery.
