Middletown – Arthur L. Hoffert, 72, of Middletown died at 6:26 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, 1993, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Lincoln.

Mr. Hoffert retired in 1985 after working many years at Boise-Cascade, Lincoln. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of Lincoln American Legion Post 263.

He was born Aug. 24, 1921, at Beason, a son of Ernest and Lena Borchardt Hoffert. He married Marie Shehorn July 26, 1957. She died March 12, 1983.

Survivors include two sons, Ernest and Rick, both of Middletown; one daughter, Edith Bumgardner of Sulfur Springs, Ark.; and one brother, Robert Hoffert of Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holland & Barry Funeral Home, Lincoln. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Lincoln.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
