MARTIN J. KOEHLER

Funeral services for Martin J. Koehler, who died January 14 at his home four mile northeast of Washington, Ia, was held at three o'clock Sunday after noon at the L.A. Jones funeral home, in charge of Dr. W.W. Bowers of the Methodist church. Burial was in Elm Grove.

Mr. Koehler, who was 36 years age, had been ill for only eight days. Pneumonia was the cause of his death.

Born at Hartsburg, Illinois November 29, 1890, a son of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Koehler, he came to Washington with his parents in 1905 and had lived ever since northeast of town. He was married twelve years ago to Maude A. Kendrick, and to them were born two children, Emily Ellen, nine years of age and Maurice Martin, two years old, who with their mother mourn the father and husband untimely death.

He also leaves his parents, who live on North Marion Ave, and four sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Dora Chambers, Mrs. Sophia Ahrens, Mrs.. Margaret Hopping, Mrs. Caroline Gault, Meint Koehler and John Koehler all of whom live in this community except John who is a resident of Vernon, Colo.

Mr Koehler, who was a member of the Methodist church, which he joined when a youth in Illinois and B.E.O class of the local Sunday school, had many friends, to whom his death is a severe shock.
