David W. Leisch, 62, of Lincoln died at 2:46 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2000, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 4, at Holland & Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln with the Rev. Larry Maffett officiating. Burial will be at Downing Cemetery in Logan County. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Holland & Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Leisch was employed by the Office of the Secretary of State in Springfield. He served in the U.S. Army in the 6th Armored Division during the Korean War. He was born July 16, 1937, in Lincoln, a son of Ralph H. and Mildred (Brown) Leisch.

He is survived by one sister, Linda Mecham of Bloomington; one niece, Jodene Beavis of Novato, Calif.; three nephews, Gary Mecham and Michael Lenardt, both of Bloomington, and Ray Mecham of Schereville, Ind. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Leisch was employed by P.P.G. in Lincoln for 22 years. He was an avid golfer, a member of the U.S. Golf Association, and worked for several years in the Pro Shop at the Lincoln Elks Country Club. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lincoln and of AMVETS.
