Henry Lohrenz, Sr. Taken by Death

Henry Lohrenz, Sr., 82, died at 5:55 p.m. Friday at the home of his son, Henry Lohrenz, Jr., in New Holland.

He was born March 20, 1865 in Germany a son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lohrenz. He married Lena Buse in Lincoln Jan.12, 1888 and she preceded him in death Feb. 3, 1935. Mr. Lohrenz retired from the farm to New Holland in 1918. Four children survive:Herman J. and Henry, Jr., New Holland; Adolph, Mason City and Mrs. Bertha Sandel of Lincoln. There are three sisters and two brothers: Mrs. William Shaffenmacker, and Mrs. Sophia Stoltzenberg, Lincoln; Mrs. Rosie Krusemark and Frank Lohrenz, Fremont, Ia., and John Lohrenz, Selma, Calif. Five grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

The body was taken to Sheets Funeral home and will be removed to the Herman Lohrenz residence in New Holland at 10 a.m. Sunday.

The funeral will be at 2:15 p.m.(CDT) Monday at the residence and at 2:30 o'clock at Zion Lutheran church in New Holland with the Rev. M.H.A. Guemmer, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Richmond Grove cemetery.

He was my great great uncle.
