Henry Menzel, Sr., died at his home, 1520 Citizens' Avenue Monday morning at 8:00 o'clock after a year's illness of arterial sclerosis. He was aged 61 years, 7 months and 29 days. He has been employed as a miner at the Citizens' Coal Mine for several years.
Henry Menzel was born in Germany July 23, 1853. He was married in Germany to Miss Caroline Moletzki shortly afterwards coming to this country. To this union were born the following surviving children: Fred Menzel, Bloomington; Henry, Oscar, William, Avole and Freda Menzel, all of this city. William Menzel of Lincoln is a brother.
The funeral will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the home on Citizens' avenue. Rev. Charles Hoffman, pastor of St. John's Church, of which the deceased was a member, will have charge of the services. Interment will be in Union cemetery
