Mrs. Maude Menzel Funeral Wednesday

Mrs. Maude Menzel, 89, died at 5 p.m. Sunday at Abraham Lincoln Memorial hospital.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Holland and Barry Funeral Home. Burial will be in Union cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The decedent was born Nov. 24, 1879, at Bath, a daughter of John and Elizabeth Parr Swingle. She was married to Henry Menzel Sept. 22, 1900, in Lincoln. He died in December, 1949.

Surviving are two sons, Donald, Atlanta; and Lewis, Lincoln; two daughters, Mrs. Louise Sandel and Mrs. Inez Broughton, both of Lincoln; a brother, Paul Swingle, Peoria; two sisters, Miss Lela Swingle and Mrs. Betsy Jones, both of Lincoln; seven grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons who died in infancy, and a great grandson.

Mrs. Menzel was a member of the Christian church.
