Lincoln, Illinois newspaper - Thursday January 7,1943 [Died Tuesday January 5, 1943]

Word was received Wednesday by Russell Arthur from his wife in Clinton, advising of the death of her mother, Mrs. Emma Milham, which occurred early that morning. Mrs. Milham had been in failing health for an extended period, and for the last week had been in a critical condition.

In response to a message Saturday Mrs. Arthur and two sisters, Mrs. Elmo Day of Rock Falls and Mrs. Charles Hensing of Marshalltown, Ia., left immediately for Clinton, and were at the bedside of their mother when she passed away. A son Virgil of Decatur, Ill., and two daughters, Mrs. Oral Scroggins of Lincoln, Ill., and Mrs. Gertrude Smith of Clinton, who made her home with her mother and took care of her during her illness, also survive, Mr. Milham passed away seven years ago.

Mrs. Milham had resided in Clinton about 25 years, and practically all of her life was spent in central Illinois.

Emma Hayes Mileham was married in Logan County and lived in Logan County for about 37 years before moving to DeWitt County. She was my great great grandmother.
