BURIAL OF HARRY SMITH

The funeral of the late Harry W. Smith, who died Saturday at St. Clara's hospital, was conducted Monday afternoon at the Lincoln Hill Cumberland Presbyterian church. The burial was made in Union cemetery. Rev. R. B. Fisher, who officiated, read the following obituary:

"Harry W., son of John W. and Allie Smith, was born August 23, 1884, and died May 18, 1901, aged 16 years, 8 months and 25 days. He leaves a father, mother, four sisters and six brothers to mourn his departure, while two members of the sad home have preceded him across the river we call death. He at one time was a member of the Baptist Junior Union and also a member of the Boys' Brigade of the Lincoln Hill Cumberland Presbyterian church. His sickness fell suddenly upon him with relentless power and destuctive force last Tuesday evening and he lost consciousness Wednesday, never to regain it fully again before his call beyond Saturday afternoon, being sick less than four days and unconscious less than one day. Thus we see 'man is fearfully and wonderfully made.' We will miss Harry here at Lincoln Hill, for he was very regular as an attendant. His vacant place will be sad, but an eloquent appeal to all to prepare for death. As relatives and friends we pay the God of love to judge him mercifully."
