Donald A. Thomas

Donald A. Thomas, 69, of Greenview died at 7:30 PM Sunday, Oct 9, 1983 at St. John's Hospital, Springfield.

Thomas owned and operated Our Place Tavern in Greenview for nine years and was a retired Teamster. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Litchfield, AM VETS Post 179 in Greenview, and the Elks Lodge of North Little Rock, Ark. He was a veteran of World War II.

He was born March 28 1914, in Lincoln, the son of Earl and Jessie Phillips Thomas. He married Margaret Rebbe Sept. 20, 1947, at Alton. She survives.

Also surviving are four daughters, Martha Weise, Little Rock, Ark; Jo Ann Harris, Little Rock, Ark; Patricia Critchlow, Houston, Texas; and Jane Fielden, Havana; four sons, John Thomas, Carbondale; Edward Thomas, Greenview; and David Thomas, Greenview; two brothers, Marvin (SHOULD READ: MARION) Thomas, Eugene, Orel, and Raymond Thomas, Lincoln; one sister, Jessie Kloppenburg, in California; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter.

His funeral will be at 10 am Wednesday at Conrad Funeral Home, with the Rev. Stanley J. Swiatek and the Rev. Larry Williams officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery Litchfield. Memorials may be made to the Greenview Ministerial Association.

Donald A. Thomas was my uncle.
