David B. Wacaser, father of Mrs. Arthur Shilling and Alfred Wacaser of this city, passed away Saturday morning, Sept. 9, at 4:30 o'clock, at his home in Mt. Pulaski. Mr. Wacaser suffered a stroke of paralysis a number of days ago and since that time his condition has been critical.
Mr. Wacaser was a Civil War veteran and during the war fought in many large battles. He was born in Springfield, Ga., May 3, 1842, but has been a resident of Illinois for the past 70 years, passing away at the age of 80 years, 5 months and 6 days. September 26, 1869, in Lincoln, Ill., Mr. Wacaser was married to Miss Angeline Matilda Clark, who survives with the following children: Mrs. Levi Patterson, Sullivan, Ill., Ward Wacaser, Woodlake, Cal., William Wacaser, Fresno, Cal., Mrs. Edward Meister, Mt. Pulaski., Walter Wacaser, Peoria, Ill., Mrs. A. C. Shilling and Alfred Wacaser, Lincoln., Mrs. J. R. Rigg, Bloomington. One daughter, Mrs. Dora A. Miller, passed away a number of years ago. She (sic) is also survived by one brother, Anderson Wacaser residing at Lovington, Ill.
No definite funeral arrangements have been made, since they are waiting to hear from relatives in California.
